What is MoeGo pet grooming software?
MoeGo calls itself "All-in-One Pet Business Software". Grooming is one of several services it covers, next to boarding and daycare; retail is listed as coming soon. Its grooming page lists smart scheduling and online booking, a client messaging center and email marketing, a self-service pet parent portal, automatic reminders and grooming reports, a point of sale with card on file and deposits, and staff tools such as permissions, clock in and out, and commissions. It runs in the cloud, with apps on the App Store and Google Play.
What MoeGo does well
Credit where it is due. MoeGo is a full business system, and for many groomers it is the right one:
- Online booking. Clients book themselves, around the clock, from a booking page.
- Automated reminders. Texts, emails and calls go out without you touching them.
- Two-way messages. Client conversations sit in one inbox inside MoeGo.
- Payments. Built-in card processing, card on file, prepayment and online invoices, which helps with no-shows.
- Cloud and multi-device. The same book on your phone, tablet and computer, with unlimited devices.
- Teams and vans. Multi-van scheduling and unlimited staff from the Growth plan up.
- Route planning. Smart Schedule on Basic, and one-click route optimization from Growth.
- Support and setup. 24/7 support, one-on-one onboarding, and a data transfer service when you switch in.
Who should stay on MoeGo
Stay if any of these is true for you:
- A real share of your bookings come through the online booking page.
- You take deposits or cards on file to stop no-shows.
- You want reminders to go out with no tapping at all.
- You run more than one van, or plan to hire this year.
- You want to work from a computer as well as your phone.
Switching away would cost you real features. A cheaper tool that drops them is not a saving.
Why some solo groomers look for a MoeGo alternative
Common reasons a groomer who works alone gives for looking elsewhere:
- Price for what they use. If you mainly need dog records, an appointment book and reminders, $49 a month can feel like a lot.
- Text limits. The Basic plan includes 200 SMS per van; unlimited automated messages start at the $159 a month per van tier, as listed on November 7, 2026. Reminders, confirmations and pickup texts for a full book add up quickly.
- More system than the job. Salon-grade software has many menus and settings. Some groomers want three screens they use all day, not thirty.
- Signal. Cloud apps need a connection for most tasks. Mobile groomers who lose signal in rural areas or gated estates feel that most.
- Texts from a business number. Some groomers prefer clients to see their own number and to keep replies in their normal messages.

The short version: MoeGo does far more. Solo Groomer does less, on purpose, for the groomer who books by phone and text and wants the dog's history and the next booking on one screen.

Basic is $29 a month with DaySmart's payments or $39 without, for 1 user and 500 texts a month, with online booking, automated reminders and card processing. Two-way texting starts at the Deluxe Growth tier ($149 with payments). Good if you want a suite at a lower entry price.
- Schedule My Groom. A cloud app that calls itself software for solo groomers. One plan at $29.99 a month with online scheduling, unlimited client messages, card payments and vaccine tracking. Good if you want online booking and payments without tiers.
- GrooMore. Salon software at a similar price to MoeGo. Mobile plans are $49 a month (Standard, 1 van, 400 SMS) or $79 a month (Premium, 1 van, 800 SMS), with unlimited clients, pets and appointments. Good if you want a suite but more texts at the entry price.
- Clipped. A phone app for mobile groomers. Free to start; Pro is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year on the App Store, and removes the client limit and adds text templates and navigation. Good if you want something small and cheap.
- Paper and your phone. A card per dog, your phone's calendar, and texts by hand. Free, and fine for a small book; slow once you have many regulars.

How to switch without losing clients
- Export first. Before you cancel, ask MoeGo support how to export clients, pets and appointment history, and check the file opens.
- Run both for two weeks. Book new appointments in the new tool while the old one still holds your history.
- Move your regulars first. Start with the dogs you will see in the next month. Add notes from the last groom as you see each dog.
- Tell clients if the number changes. If your reminders used to come from a MoeGo number and will now come from your own phone, send a short note so they know it is you.
- Cancel last. Only cancel MoeGo once every upcoming appointment is in the new tool.
