Features

Built around the dog, not the account

Most pet grooming business software is made for salons with staff and a front desk. Solo Groomer is software for a dog grooming business run by one person, often from a van: the client book, the groom log and the scheduling you use twenty times a day.

A book keyed to the dog

Today's list shows Milo, Pepper and Rufus in big type, the owner underneath. You groom dogs, so the app is sorted by dogs.

What you did last time

Every groom is logged: blade and length, face, feet, notes, time it took, price, before and after photos. It is on the dog card before you ask.

"Same as last time"

Rebook a regular in one tap with last visit’s service, length and price, while the owner is still at the door.

Find a slot

See your free time for the next two weeks, from your working hours, time off and a travel buffer between stops.

Reminders from your own number

"5 dogs tomorrow — send reminders." The app writes each text and opens Messages; you tap send. No per-text fees.

Works with no signal

No account and no server. Your book is on your phone, so it opens in a dead zone.

Also in the first version

  • Multi-dog households, booked back to back
  • Cancel, reschedule and no-show count per client
  • Working hours, time off, services with default time and price
  • Import clients from your phone contacts
  • Search by dog, owner or phone number
  • Tap to call or text a client
  • "Ready for pickup", confirmation and "time to book" texts
  • A due list of dogs ready for their next groom
  • Mark done, record payment and tips separately
  • What you earned this week and this month

Is Solo Groomer right for you?

It is made for one way of working. If that is yours, these are the trade-offs.

Built for one person.

One groomer, one phone, one book. If you run a team with staff calendars and payroll, salon software is the better fit.

Texts from your own number, no credits to buy.

The app writes each reminder and opens Messages with it ready. You tap send for each one, then it moves to the next.

Your clients stay on your phone, not on our servers.

No account, and it works with no signal. One tap makes a backup file you save to Files or Google Drive, and you restore it on a new phone.

A working day

How a groomer uses it

  1. Open today

Your dogs in order, with times and last visit's spec. Tap an appointment for the address and directions. No paper day sheet on the dash.

  2. Groom and log it

Mark the dog done, note blade and length, take a before and after photo, record payment and tip.

  3. Rebook at the door

Tap "Same as last time", pick a free slot, and send the client a confirmation text.

  4. Send tomorrow's reminders

One button in the evening. The app opens each text ready to go; you tap send for each dog.

Frequently asked questions

What is Solo Groomer?

Solo Groomer is a phone app for dog groomers who work alone: mobile groomers with a van, home-based groomers and booth renters. It keeps your client book, groom log and schedule on your phone, keyed to the dog rather than the owner.

Is Solo Groomer mobile grooming software?

Yes. It is built for groomers who work from a van or go to clients: the day lists your dogs in order, an appointment shows the client's address with a tap to open directions in Maps, Find a slot leaves a travel buffer between stops, and the whole book works on your phone with no signal. It is also fine for a home salon or a rented table.

Is it groomer scheduling software?

Scheduling is one part of it. You set working hours and time off, book and rebook dogs, see free time for the next two weeks, and send reminder texts from your own phone. Clients cannot book themselves online; you book them in the app.

Can I download it now?

Not yet. Solo Groomer is in development and not on the App Store or Google Play. Leave your email on this page and we will send you one email when it is out.

How much will it cost?

The planned pricing is free for up to 15 dogs with no time limit, then $19.99 a month or $99.99 a year for unlimited dogs. Pricing can still change before launch.

Does it send appointment reminders automatically?

No. Phones do not let an app send texts on its own, and we do not route your texts through our servers. Solo Groomer writes each reminder and opens your Messages app; you tap send for each one. The texts come from your own number, with no per-text fee.

Can my clients book online?

No. There is no online booking page in the first version. You book clients in the app yourself, and "Same as last time" makes rebooking a regular one tap.

Does it take card payments?

No. Solo Groomer does not process payments. You record how the client paid (cash, card on your own reader, or a transfer) and the tip, and the app adds it up for you.

What if I lose my phone?

Your book is on your phone, so keep a copy. In Settings, one tap creates a backup file of your clients, dogs, grooms and photos, which you save to Files or Google Drive. On a new phone you restore from that file. The app reminds you to back up, but it does not back up on its own.

Is it good for a salon with several groomers?

No. Solo Groomer is for one person. It has no staff accounts, shared calendars or payroll. A salon with a team is better served by salon software built for that.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. There is no account and no Solo Groomer server, so the app works without signal. You can save a backup file to Files or Google Drive and restore it on a new phone.

Which phones will it run on?

Solo Groomer is planned for iPhone and Android, in English, for groomers in the US first.
